Inspired by Walt Whitman’s humanistic values, passion for nature, and invitation for younger generations of “poets to come” to contribute their voices to the existing body of poetry as well as to innovate, in 2021 Gwenn established the Gwenn A. Nusbaum/WWBA Scholarship to support accomplished emerging poets in their writing pursuits and efforts to teach the craft of poetry within their community as well as globally.
